Seriously, I Might Actually Explode.

Okay, so I know I have heretofore spent my blogging time focusing on the rather goofy things that I think and/or the goofy things that happen to me, but I simply have to open my mouth about some of the goofy things that other, more important people have said.  And by "goofy", I really mean "hateful, vile, and absolutely ridiculous."

Ken Buck is a Republican candidate in Colorado who is currently running for a seat in the US Senate.  Here he is:

Evil Incarnate.
Just yesterday, Buck made an ass out of himself on "Meet the Press" when engaged in a conversation/debate with his opponent, Michael Bennet.   When David Gregory (just as a sidenote, does anyone else thing that David Gregory's haircut is akin to that of a 12-year-old boy?)  asked Buck if he thought homosexuality was a choice, The Dumbass replied in the following manner:

GREGORY: Do you believe that being gay is a choice?
BUCK: I do.
GREGORY: Based on what?
BUCK: Based on what? I guess you can choose who your partner is.
GREGORY: You don't think it's something that's determined at birth?
BUCK: I think that birth has an influence over it, like alcoholism and some other things, but I think that basically, you have a choice.

So Buck has likened homosexuality to a disease, like alcoholism.  Apparently that means that if either of your parents is/are gay, then you better check yourself into gay-rehab as an infant, because you're screwed!  I guess the health detriments of being gay are similar to alcoholism, such as scerosis of the liver, drunken brawls at the bar, and  beer goggles.  Or not.

Soon we'll start to see support groups pop up.  "Hello, my name is Ken.  I'm a homosexual."

"Hi Ken!"

Oh, wait.  I think those already exist.

I'm sure that every young boy and girl would choose to be bullied incessantly by their peers in school to the point where some take their own lives.  I'm doubly sure that these same individuals would choose to be discriminated against, hated, ridiculed, and not have equal rights.  I know that sounds just divine to me.

And furthermore, I'm not really sure why it is even a question whether or not homosexuality is a choice!  Who cares??!  Either way, the parties involved are two people who love each other.  Frankly, I've thought about becoming a lesbian more than once due to my dating failures, and that wouldn't make me more or less of a person than anyone else. People choose to wear crocks every day even though it's a crime against fashion and no one says anything.

For Buck's (and yours, incidentally) viewing pleasure, I offer this lovely video (for all those who love the F-bomb as much as I do..)

Buck has also managed to insult more than half the US population when he told the victim of a 2005 sexual assault that her case would not be prosecuted, since it seemed to be a "buyer's remorse" situation.  Yes, I guess it would be considered "buyer's remorse" when one is raped while unconscious... Damn, I can't believe she bought that rufie and put it in her own drink!

Someone should tell Buck and other hypocrites that no, homosexuality is not a disease, but bigotry and hate are.  They are disgusting parasites that will latch on and suck the life out of not only you, but everyone around you.  Perhaps we should have support groups for that!

I don't live in Colorado, but this kind of nonsense really gets my blood boiling!  I don't know why it is so difficult to put individuals in office who are caring, compassionate, and sensitive to the issues that are important to all constituents, not just the ones that love the opposite sex or have a penis dangling between their legs.  What a disappointment that these are the choices we have for people who are supposed to be looking out for our best interest, including equal rights for everyone!!!

Okay, okay.  I'm off the soapbox now.  Thanks for listening!
